Helen McNaught

Helen is the youngest of two sisters, (Lesley McNaught -Maendli is the winner of numerous medals for Switzerland) The sisters started riding before they could walk, and jumping their ponies soon became a passion.

After moving on from a successful start in pony jumpers, including competing for England on more than one occasion, Helen moved to Ireland, where she continued her winning ways.

Helen first worked for the top Irish dealer Con McElroy before moving on to ride for Irish Legend Eddie Macken.

Whilst at The Macken stable Helen was one of the listed riders on the Olympic Young Rider Training Squad as well as being short listed for the Jr.European Championships. Here she had her first GP win on Carolls Spotlight the wonderful if temperamental red head.

The next years would see Helen in Switzerland where she won her first Puissance. Training the Swiss Junior Eventing squad was also on Helen's to do list.

In Germany, she worked for the top trotting driver Wim Paal. Here she partnered up with Poor Boy (Porky) and Roco Barocco. Poor Boy really was the horse that put her on the map there. Working in mainly dealing yards she had many wins with all types of horses, winning everything from Grand Prixs' to speed classes, Puissances to young horse classes.

Whilst Helen was in Germany she started training riders of all levels. These small lessons soon evolved into Helen training weekly clinics at two different 'Clubs' with up to 45 riders a week! This progressed to Helen giving an 'Olympic Star Spotters' clinic in England.

This teaching 'talent' along with the ability of being able to ride horses of differing temperaments, often given horses that most have given up on, have given Helen a long, successful career in many different countries.

Helen tries to return to England annually to give lessons and clinics.

Already making her mark in New Zealand, Helen and Carnutelabryere, whom came to Helen from Poland as a 5yr old, won the Danniverke World Cup, 2nd in both the World Cup Series Final and the World Cup points table. 'Brian' was leading Premiere League Horse both years here, won several GP's as well as placed top 3 in every World Cup he went in.

He was also 2nd at the prestigious Equidays GP. All this in his first year jumping above 1.30!

2015/16 season saw Brian and Helen win the World Cup final at Waitamata, Equidays GP, Foxton GP twice, and the prestigious Olympic Cup, and,  to wrap his year up he was 2nd= in the North Island Championships. Helen was the recipient of  the 'Fair Play' award in New Zealand 2014/15

Having trained with some of the best in the business, Eddie Macken/Ireland, Malcolm Pyrah/ Great Britain, Marcus Mandli/ Switzerland, Lesley McNaught,  Ralf Runge/Germany, Helen brings with her a wealth of knowledge.

Training Opportunities

Both Helen and Duncan are very busy with training clinics.

They offer a unique service as 'typically' you get two for the price of one.

Whenever humanly possible both Helen and Duncan attend all clinics, unless it's specifically organised for just one to attend. The beauty of this is if there's any hiccup during the clinic, Helen can give a semi private lesson until the problem is solved, thus not having to hold up the whole group, giving everyone their time and moneys worth.

It's a win win.

They also offer 'at show' training.

This includes course walks, warm up, analysis afterwards, feeding and schedule advice, all included.

There is also limited space for sales and re schooling horses, with or without client.
